With volunteer turnout for filling sandbags very light, Fargo's sandbag central could use more help like Eric Adams. The 23-year old from Grove City, Minnesota has been working every day since work started a week ago.
Adams tells KFGO News, "I've been here from when it opens at 8 in the morning until it closes at 8 or 9 night at night. My goal is putting in a hundred hours. I can't do it much longer, you get a little sore. I take pain reliever but your body does adjusts to it."
Adams should hit the 100 hour milestone this afternoon. The college graduate says he had time on his hands while waiting for a job to start and decided to help out. During last year's flood, he interned with the Red Cross in Fargo.
Volunteer help is still needed. Fargo city employees pulled off their regular jobs have been filling in the gaps to keep at least one sandbag machine running. Volunteers should show up at the coliseum and you will be bussed to sandbag central.
